The American Foundation currently houses hundreds of trusts and foundations that promote and support causes ranging from education and the arts, to prison reform and third world health care.

2. Educating You, Your Family and Advisors
We understand that charitable gift planning is a new subject for most people and pride ourselves in making the entire process as easy and simple as possible for you. Our staff is experienced and can help you get the most out of gift planning. We have been around for over 20 years!
If you would like us to educate others who will be involved with your foundation, we would be happy to meet with them to explain the foundation's operations, mission, and relationship with the American Foundation. This service is free and is especially useful for your professional advisors (tax attorney, accountant, financial planner.)
Should you, your family, or any of your professional advisors wish to speak with us, please feel free to call our Development Department at (602) 955-4770. We would be happy to answer any questions you, your family, or your professional advisors might have.

The American Foundation is excited about creating opportunities to help your family foundation grow. If you are interested in any of the benefits that family foundation planning has to offer, we can help!
The Benefits of Family Foundation Planning:
- Provides great asset protection
- Eliminates or reduces estate and gift tax
- Can significantly increase annual tax-favored personal income, through the use of Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs)
- Generates income tax deductions
- Eliminates capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated stock and properties
- Gives annual support to family-selected charities · Establishes a "family charitable legacy"
- Can provide increased inheritance to heirs when combined with life insurance placed in what is called a "Wealth Replacement Trust."

Charitable Interest Worksheet - This form will serve as a general recommendation to the American Foundation regarding the charitable objectives of your family foundation. This will be helpful if, for some unforeseen reason, your selected charitable advisor does not submit annual recommendations for charitable grants. If no advisors are selected, the American Foundation will refer to this sheet in making future charitable grants in your name.

Grant Recommendation Form - A donor has the opportunity to recommend grant recipients. A "grant" is a gift from a foundation, out of income or growth, to a recognized 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) public charity by way of the Grants Recommendation form.
